The Alpine Fellowship and The Outsiders Project

The Outsiders Project is an organisation that gives voice to the unheard and marginalised through working with outsider artists and supporting their creativity. Their vision is to show that people side lined from society can write, perform and create work at the highest level. They support the outsider community to push boundaries to prove they can create work of outstanding quality and worth.

The Alpine Fellowship will work collaboratively with The Outsiders Project to mentor emerging outsider artists who are writing prose, poetry and drama. Mentors will be Jane Feaver and Damian Le Bas, and this project is managed under the guidance of playwright, novelist and Advisory Board member Nell Leyshon.

“The Outsiders Project is a genuine route into writing and performing for people who wouldn't otherwise find their way into it. It's a magic world for a lot of people. Especially people who've had tough lives. Lives out of the arts. Outside the enchanted wall. The Outsiders Project is about breaking the spell. Smashing down the wall.”
